Within the research divisions, IHEP has set up several National and CAS Key Laboratories for more specific research in particle physics, astroparticle physics, detectors and electronics, accelerators, and nano-materials. National Key Laboratories (also known as State Key Laboratories) receive funding and administrative support from central government. CAS Key Laboratories are supported in a similar way by the Chinese Academy of Sciences.
