Second Run of 2017 Concluded at BSRF
This year's second dedicated run at the Beijing Synchrotron Radiation Facility (BSRF) was open to users from October 19 to November 27. Thirteen beamlines and experimental stations were involved in providing 856.43 operation hours to 112 user groups from research institutions in China and 7 from abroad.
During this run, 306 experiments and research projects were run, from fields including materials science, chemistry, environmental science, life sciences, condensed matter physics, archaeology.
Apart from basic sciences, BSRF also provided operation hours and important technical support to the High Energy Photon Source Test Facility (HEPS-TF) project. Technical tests of the high heat load double-crystal monochromator, the picosend ultrafast X-ray time-resolved probes, and the high performance X-ray pixel array detectors were completed during this open run.
Part of the Beijing Electron Positron Collider (BEPC) facility, BSRF has been open to users since 1991. An important experiment platform in China, BSRF can supply beam time of 2,000 hours per year to upwards of 500 experiments for over 1,000 users from more than 100 institutes and universities at home and abroad.
