BESIII Physics and Software Workshop held

BESIII International Collaboration held its 2012 BESIII Physics and Software Workshop from Feb. 29 to Mar. 3 at the Institute of

 attendees listen to the report
High Energy Physics in Beijing.

About 100 scientists from the Collaboration attended this workshop, at which such topics as the running status of the accelerator, data acquisition at the BESSIII Experiment, upgrade of the computing environment and software, analysis of physics results were discussed at great length. The internal analysis and review of the BESIII physics results are currently under full wing within the Collaboration, and are to be published soon.

A parallel meeting was organized to discuss the problem that dark currents in the inner layers of MDC are on the increase. Since this kind of problems arise in many high energy physics experiments, measures are being taken to solve them.

Prof. Fred Harris from Hawaii University summarized the recent project progress and the paper publications of the BESIII Experiment. It is expected that more interesting results can be reported at CHARM 2012 in June.

The next BESIII Collaboration Meeting will be held in Suzhou University in June this year.
