BEPC & BEPCII
18th BEPC Annual Meeting in Beijing
The 18th Annual Meeting of the Beijing Electron Positron Collider (BEPC) was held from August 2 to 4, 2013, in Beijing. Present at the meeting were more than 120 representatives from the Institute of High Energy Physics (IHEP), Hefei National Synchrotron Radiation Laboratory (NSRL), Lanzhou Institute of Modern Physics, Shanghai Institute of Applied Physics and representatives from CAS.
WANG Yifang, IHEP Director, opened the meeting by extending his sincere congratulations on BEPCII’s excellent performance during the past year and his thanks to all the scientists and engineers involved. He emphasized that BEPC has been the top priority among all the scientific activities at IHEP, and a new luminosity record of 1×1033cm-2s-1 should be hit as soon as possible.
At the plenary session, reports were made concerning the performance of the BEPCII Linear Accelerator and that of the BESIII detector, current status at BSRF, CSNS, ADS, ILC and BAPS. Representatives from accelerator physics system, RF system, microwave system, power source system, vacuum system, mechanical system, beam measurement system, control system, magnet system, radiation protection system and temperature control system delivered their talks at the parallel sessions. Important issues like accelerator physics and beam performance were discussed.
The highly-efficient exchanges at the meeting constitute a sound basis for future BEPCII commissioning and operation.
