Abstract:
Modern experiments at state-of-the art accelerator facilities often face significant challenges in data acquisition. These arise from requirements concerning event rates, frequently exceeding 107 Hz, with correspondingly large raw data volumes, conflicting with available long-term storage capacity and data processing resources. In many cases, physics driven event filtering can be applied to address this problem. This talk will discuss concepts and examples of solutions based on existing and emerging technologies.
