Abstract:Recently there has been renewed interest in asymptotic symmetries at null infinity. These have been argued to play a significant role in quantum theory as a symmetry of the S-Matrix. More precisely, it has been shown that the soft theorems are nothing but the Ward identity of certain asymptotic symmetries. In this presentation, the speaker will stress such discovery at the sub-leading order of soft photon theorem.
