Title: Holographic inspired stringy hadrons- theoretical aspects
Speaker: Prof. Jacob Sonnenschein (Tel Aviv University)
Time: 3:00PM, Mar. 14th (Monday)
Place: Theoretical Physics Division,319
Abstract:
Holography inspired stringy hadrons (HISH) is a set of models that describe hadrons: mesons, baryons and glueballs as strings in four dimensional space-time. The models are based on a "map" from stringy hadrons of holographic confining backgrounds.
In this talk the speaker will review the "derivation" of the models, briefly mention their confrontation with the PDG and discuss several open issues. He will start with a brief reminder of the passage from the $AdS_5x\times S^5$ string theory that corresponds to $N=4$ SYM theory to certain flavored confining holographic models, and then describe the string configurations in holographic backgrounds that correspond to a Wilson line,a meson,a baryon and a glueball. He will determine the classical Regge-like trajectories of the HISH and discuss in details the quantization of the hadronic strings. The speaker will present the string calculations that correspond to the decay of a hadron into two hadrons and emphasize the different between the decay of an open string (meson or baryon) and closed string (glueball).
