Title: First Results from NOvA

Speaker: Dr.BIAN Jianming

Moderator: Prof.CAO Jun

Time: 10:00AM, December 17

Place: Room B326, IHEP Main Building

Abstract:

The NOvA experiment is a long-baseline accelerator based neutrino oscillation experiment. It uses the upgraded NuMI beam from Fermilab and measures electron neutrino appearance and muon neutrino disappearance at its Far Detector in Ash River, Minnesota. The electron neutrino appearance analysis at NOvA aims for resolving mass hierarchy and the CP violating phase. This talk presents first results of the electron neutrino appearance measurement and muon neutrino disappearance measurement from the NOvA experiment.
