Title: Scattering amplitudes from scattering equations

Speaker: Dr. Song He (ITP,CAS)

Time: 2:30PM, Nov. 18th (Wednesday)

Place: Theoretical Physics Division,319

Abstract:

Inspired by Witten’s twistor string theory, the speaker will present a new formulation for scattering amplitudes in general massless QFT’s in any dimensions. The framework is based on a set of universal, theory-independent equations called “scattering equations”, and they find remarkably simple formulas for all tree-level amplitudes in gravity, Yang-Mills and many other theories. There are also (ongoing) generalizations to loop amplitudes, to massive particles, to QCD etc.
