【8.12】Academic Lecture: New Concepts in Readout and Trigger/DAQ for ATLAS and for Noble Liquid TPCs
Title: New Concepts in Readout and Trigger/DAQ for ATLAS and for Noble Liquid TPCs
Speaker:Hucheng Chen (Brookhaven National Laboratory)
Moderator: Prof.ZHU Kejun
Time:15:00, August 12
Place: Room B326, IHEP Main Building
Abstract:
R&D studies of readout electronics and Trigger/DAQ system for both ATLAS experiment and accelerated based neutrino Experiments are being carried out at Brookhaven National Laboratory. The latest progress for the ATLAS Phase-I upgrade will be reported, which includes developments for Liquid Argon Calorimeter, TDAQ System and Forward Muon Chambers. Integrated readout for nobleliquid Time Projection Chambers (TPCs) for neutrino experiments is being developed. The CMOS based cryogenic readout electronics development will be presented, which also has potential to be used in other experiments (dark matter search, neutrino-less double beta decay) based on noble liquid TPCs.
About the speaker:
Hucheng Chen (Brookhaven National Laboratory)
Hucheng is a Physicist in Omega Group of Physics Department at Brookhaven National Laboratory. He has been working on the ATLAS experiment since 2000, participated in the design, construction and commissioning of the Liquid Argon Calorimeter front-end readout electronics system. Currently he is focusing on the R&D studies of Readout and Trigger/DAQ systems for ATLAS Phase-I and Phase-II upgrade, and also coordinating the cryogenic front end electronics development for accelerated based neutrino experiments in both short baseline and long baseline neutrino programs.
