Abstract:
This presentation will discuss submission growth rates and subject category development patterns in arXiv, and present available data on deposit and download trends by Chinese institutions. It will describe recent efforts to develop new sustainability and governance models for arXiv. It will also describe software development priorities of the arXiv team, such as current work to replace arXiv's discovery and access system.
About the speaker:
David Ruddy is Director of Scholarly Communications Services, Cornell University Library. His unit is responsible for user support and operational management of the Library's largest repositories, including arXiv, Project Euclid, eCommons (Cornell's institutional repository), and the CUL Archival Repository (a digital preservation system). He holds an M.A., M.S., and Ph.D., all from the University of Michigan.
