【10.11】Academic Lecture: Recent Developments in Neutrino Physics
Title: Recent Developments in Neutrino Physics
Speaker: John Demetrius Vergados
Host: Prof. Yang Changgen
Time: 10:30 AM, Oct. 11, 2012
Place: Room C305, IHEP Main Building
Abstract:
The speaker will first review neutrino oscillations and the remaining unsettled issues. Then the speaker will briefly give an overview of experiments focusing on neutrinoless double beta decay. Regarding the searching for sterile neutrinos, the speaker will examine some novel neutrino oscillation experiments, involving monochromatic very low energy neutrinos and employing a gaseous spherical time projection counter (STPC). This STPC may be used in the detection of supernova neutrinos and geoneutrinos.
