【8.21】Academic Lecture: CMS Higgs Search Results and Observation of a New Boson at 125 GeV
Title: CMS Higgs Search Results and Observation of a New Boson at 125 GeV
Speaker: Prof. Harvey Newman(California Institute of Technology, USA)
Host: Prof. WANG Yifang
Time: 10:30 AM, August 21, 2012
Place: Room C305, IHEP Main Building
About the abstract:
The recent observation of a new boson at CMS at 125 GeV has opened a new era of physics. I will review the latest results on the search for the Standard Model Higgs as well as some beyond the SM Higgs searches in CMS. I will briefly summarize the initial results and the prospects for determining the nature of the new particle using data from the present LHC run that will continue through December.
