The best gift for the New Year

2010-12-24

             ----luminosity new high

4.91×1032cm-2s-1, another exhilarating new record of the collision luminosity of the Beijing Electron Positron Collider (BEPC) was achieved on December 23, 2010.

Starting to deliver beams for Beijing Spectrometer (BESIII) from December 12, BEPCII had continuously broken its records in collision luminosity, since 4.17×1032 cm-2s-1 was achieved on December 14.

In terms of the integrated luminosity, we have also reached a record high of 21.7pb-1 per day, which greatly exceeds the record of 13pb-1 per day in the last run. As we are getting closer to the new year of 2011, this is definitely the best gift for the holiday season.
