Dr. JIANG Xiaoming, Deputy Director of IHEP extended his warm welcome to the delegation. He hoped that both sides could strengthen the mutual cooperation on national key projects of basic facilities.
During the meeting, Mr. HAN Jiecai, Vice President of HIT, introduced its space-environment-simulated research platform, where the space materials and devices can get reviewed and improved.
IHEP researchers briefed the delegates with their research and development progress, ranging from china's first proton accelerator, project experience in BEPCII, China Spallation Neutron Source (CSNS) project and clean nuclear energy (ADS) research, and the pre-research in Beijing advanced light source, etc. Then, the guests toured the Beijing Electron Positron Collider (BEPC), the Beijing Synchrotron Radiation Facility (BSRF).
After the discussions, both sides agreed that synchrotron radiation technology played a significant role in the research of material science, life science, medicine, environment science, national defenses, etc. They also decided to carry out mutual cooperation in mega-science facility projects and multi-disciplinary research in the future.
