The iron remover was jointly developed by the Institute of High Energy Physics (IHEP), Shandong Huate Magnet Technology Corporation and Weifang Xinli Super-conducting Corporation. It's the first time in China that the super-conducting technology was applied to the iron-removing. By applying the vacuum paraffin technology, the stability of the magnet was greatly improved and costs were reduced.

The expert panel, headed by CAS Academician ZHOU Yuan, concluded that this iron remover was the first of its kind in China, and its performance reached the advanced international level. It is one of the most important spin-off achievements recently achieved in technology transfer by IHEP.
