Feasibility of X-ray detection project reviewed

2010-06-10

A seminar was held on May 28th to review the feasibility of the Project: Research on the Detection Techniques of X-ray in Space at the Institute of High Energy Physics (IHEP). Bureau of High-Technology

 experts review the project
Research and Development and Bureau of Basic Science, CAS co-organized the seminar. An expert panel consisted of experts from other CAS institutions and universities was created to do the review job.

The experts listened to the report by Prof. LU Fangjun, followed by questions and answers and extended discussions. The panel concluded that the detection techniques of X-rays in space should be greatly applied in the space exploration and related fields. It would be of great significance in the development and innovation of high techniques.

As one of the CAS Knowledge Innovation Programs, this project aims to settle the key techniques of applying semiconductor detector arrays in X-ray detection in space, and improve the R&D of X-ray detector.
