Supported by the local government, the ground leveling plan for the site of China Spallation Neutron Source (CSNS) Project

was  reviewed and finalized by experts on April 1st, and the earthwork kicked off on April 10th.

The geological survey last December showed the bedrock fully met the construction requirements. Since the facility relies on the integrity of the bedrock, blasting techniques become the key element and called for careful consideration. Experts from the Chinese Academy of Sciences and Guangdong Province appraised the blasting plan on May 15th with the conclusion that the plan was feasible.

With the above plans reviewed and the preliminary design reported finished, the project construction will soon start.
