1.5T MRI Super-conducting Magnet Developed at IHEP
2010-04-15
Researchers with the Institute of High Energy Physics (IHEP) developed 1.5T Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) Super-conducting Magnet, which laid a solid basis for the localization of this product.
Super-conducting magnet is the key component of MRI. The development of China' MRI industry has been hindered by the
monopoly existing in the field. The breakthrough not only helped solve difficulties for domestic manufacturers, but will help
creat a strong and localized industrial chain from super-conducting materials, magnet to complete set of equipment.
IHEP will continue to cooperate with Weifang Xinli Super-conducting Corporation for fabrication of MRI super-conducting
magnets.
