Compared to the 122 research applications in 2009 and the 82 in 2008, 113 research applications to the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) have been submitted by March 19th, 2010.

Among the 113 applications this year, 53 are categorized as general programs, 5 as key programs, 32 as programs of the Young Scientists Fund, 7 as programs of the Outstanding Young Scientists Fund. What makes us happy this year is that the percentage of applications made by young scientists is on the rise. Last year, the percentage was 37%, this year it hits 43%. By far, the applications for this year have been accomplished.
