CSNS Annual Workshop on R&D of Key Technologies
The Experimental Division of the China Spallation Neutron Source (CSNS) held its annual workshop on the R&D of key technologies from January 27-28, 2010. The workshop aimed to review the on-going projects and the feasibility of the new proposals for key technologies. Twenty oral reports and new proposals were presented during the meeting.
The six on-going R&D projects consist of target station, neutron super-mirror guide, neutron disk chopper, 2-dimensional gas neutron detectors, 3He PSD tube arrays and corresponding data-acquisition electronics.
The other 14 new mock-ups and benchmark experiments were proposed, covering neutron physics, target, helium container, cryogen, neutron optics, new detector and its data acquisition system, experimental control and utility system.
All the on-going projects will be completed by the end of this year, and the new projects on key technologies will be launched after further review. Manpower and tight schedule deadlines are the main challenges that the Projects facing at this moment.
Dr.WANG Fangwei, the Division Director, co-chaired this workshop with Dr. CHEN Yuanbo, Associate Project Manager.
