IHEP-KEK Cooperative Agreement Extended to Another Five Years
The 2009 IHEP-KEK Annual Cooperative Meeting took place at the Institute of High Energy Physics (IHEP) on December 23rd.
Dr. CHEN Hesheng, Director of IHEP, heading the Chinese delegation, opened the meeting by warmly welcoming the Japanese guests. He then introduced the IHEP activities covering the recent progress on accelerators, physics experiments and synchrotron radiation.
Dr. Atsuto SUZUKI, Director-General of High Energy Accelerator Research Organization (KEK) reviewed the KEK activities and introduced the KEK long-term plans.
After reports, both sides discussed at great length how to further strengthen the cooperation, China Spallation Neutron Source Project (CSNS), BEPCII, KEK B, Belle Experiment and synchrotron radiation application being listed as the key areas for cooperation.
The meeting was culminated by a signing ceremony to extend the framework cooperative agreement for another five years between the two laboratories.
