IN2P3 fulfils this mission for all universities and institutes that depend from the Ministries of National Education and Research, excepted the Atomic Energy Agency CEA. As an institute within CNRS, IN2P3 is thus regrouping the domains of nuclear physics, particle physics and astroparticle physics. Approximately 2500 researchers, professors and associate professors, engineers, technicians (out of which 1900 CNRS staff) work in 20 laboratories.
