The fifth International Conference on Quarks and Nuclear Physics (QNP09) was held from September 21st to 25th at IHEP, Beijing. Taking part in this conference were 72 foreign delegates from 20 countries and over 70 domestic experts and young scholars.

　　All together 34 plenary talks and 76 parallel talks were delivered during the conference, which mainly focused on the latest development in the experimental and practical research of quarks and nuclear physics field. 

　　This conference was a great platform for the participants to exchange theirs ideas with each other. It has attracted Prof. Riska, the Chair of Commission on Nuclear Physics, International Union of Pure and Applied Physics (IUPAP), Dr. Anthony Thomas, the Chief Scientist and Associate Director for Theoretical and Computational Physics at Jefferson Lab, Prof. Brodsky, the Director of Theoretical Physics Department, SLAC, etc, to make special reports as invited speakers.
