New Control System for ID4W1 Power Supply Accomplished

   The New Control System for ID4W1 Power Supply for BSRF was successfully commissioned and put into operation in November, 2004. Since then, the system has been running for six months without significant problems. It provides support to two x-ray beamlines, which ensures the users to smoothly carry out their experiments.(left: a diagram showing the interface of manual/computer control   right: a real-time diagram)

  By replacing the original non-intelligent CAMAC system, PSI and PSC, a new type control interface & a new type control, which will be applied to all the controls of the BEPCII magnet power supplies, represent the current world advanced control technologies The new system has been developed on the basis of EPICS. It took about only a month to finish software packaging, setup a real-time VME IOC data bank and develop the drive program for PSC/PSI and so on, among which by giving up the old ramping mode of multi-phase second order interpolation polynomial, the new Ramp program adopts without any distortion the third order interpolation to create magnetic field. Compared to the old ID4W1 power supplies, the magnetic field becomes even more accurate, thus improving the quality of x-ray beams.

  The timely use of the new system ensures stable operation of BSRF in 2004-2005, and also lays a firm and reliable foundation for the construction of the whole BEPCII power control system.
