The 16th IEEE-NPSS Real Time Conference (RT09) was successfully held on IHEP campus from May 10th to May 15th, 2009. Taking part in this conference were about 190 scholars, experts and students from 76 institutions and universities around the world.

　　The real time conference is a series sponsored by the IEEE, and it was the first time to be held in Asia. 187 talks were delivered at the conference, covering a wide range of topics including ultra fast analogue and timing, signal processing, real time system architectures and so on. The latest developments on real time technologies were fully presented.

　　At the conference, Dr. Sergio Cittolin from CERN was honored the " IEEE/NPSS Outstanding Senior Award" for his contributions to the nuclear and plasma sciences. Four other participants were awarded the title "IEEE-NPSS RT2009 Outstanding Students".

　　The Conference Chairman was Dr. Yifang Wang, who is the IHEP Deputy Director. Many delegates commented and congratulated that "The conference was a great success".
