A new Resonant-Structure and a new Enhanced-Structure (IHEP-PKU-USTC group, China)
A new resonant-structure and a new enhanced-structure, named Y(4660) and Y(4008) tentatively, are observed at Belle via initial state radiation, as announced by the Belle Collaboration (see Belle homepage: http://belle.kek.jp/). Two papers with these observations were submitted to Physical Review Letters for publication recently. The nature of these newly observed structures is still unclear.
These analysis were finished by the physicists from China in the Belle Collaboration. The physicists from the institute of high energy physics (IHEP), Peking University (PKU) and University of Science and Technology of China (USTC) have cooperated as a Chinese group in the Belle experiment at KEK since 1995, and played important role in the searches for mixing, origin of the low momentum excess in B decays, and new resonances using the Belle data. The observations of these two new structures, Y(4660) and Y(4008), are significant contributions to the high energy physics society by physicists from the IHEP-PKU-USTC group.
The studies are supported by NSFC(Natural Science Foundation of China), KIP (Knowledge Innovation Program) of IHEP/CAS (Chinese Academy of Sciences), and the 100 talents program of CAS.
