On March 6th, 2008, Dr. Christain Scherf, the DESY Administrative Director，visited IHEP at the company of Dr. Hong HE, chief representative of Helmholtz Association in Beijing. Prof. Xiaoming JIANG, Associate Director of IHEP, expressed his warm welcome to the guests and introduced the IHEP development and achievements gained during the past years. Then Dr. Scherf and Prof. Jiang had lengthy discussions on China's participation in the construction of the XFEL Project in Europe, they also discussed at a broader scope about the future collaboration between DESY and IHEP. It is believed that Dr Scherf’s visit to IHEP will further strengthen this collaboration.
