The Inauguration Ceremony of the CAS (the Chinese Academy of Sciences) Theoretical Physics Research Center for Large Science Facilities was held on 6 September, 2007 at the Institute of High Energy Physics (IHEP) in Beijing. CAS Executive Vice President BAI Chunli, Vice President of the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) SHEN Wenqing and about 100 senior scientists were present at the Ceremony, which was chaired by IHEP Associate Director Yifang WANG.

　　“Mega-science facilities are very important platforms for scientific research.”, said Prof. Bai,“ By giving full play of the CAS advantages, we believe that the establishment of the Center is an important practice for promoting inter-institute cooperation and interdisciplinary studies.”
