WANG Yifang Elected to the Fellowship of the Royal Society

On May 20 (UK time), the Royal Society announced its new list of fellows, with more than 90 outstanding researchers from around the world elected. Prof. WANG Yifang, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and researcher at the Institute of High Energy Physics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, was elected to the Fellowship of the Royal Society. 

Sir Adrian Smith, President of the Royal Society, said: “The newly elected fellows’ achievements represent the very best of scientific endeavour, from basic discovery to research with real-world impact across health, technology and policy. From tackling global health challenges to reimagining what AI can do for humanity, their work is a testament to the power of curiosity-driven research and innovation.” 

The Royal Society (also known as the UK's National Academy of Sciences), founded in 1660, is not only the UK’s highest academic institution but also the world’s oldest continuously active scientific society. It has witnessed numerous pivotal milestones in scientific progress. Election to the Fellowship of the Royal Society recognizes individuals as leading figures in their fields who have made exceptional contributions to scientific research. The Royal Society currently comprises over 1,800 fellows, including more than 80 Nobel laureates.
