CEPC International Detector Review Committee Meeting was Held
The International Detector Review Committee (IDRC) meeting for the Circular Electron Positron Collider (CEPC) was held at the Institute of High Energy Physics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences from October 21 to 23. Academician WANG Yifang, Chairman of the CEPC Executive Committee, along with project leaders responsible for overall project and detector-related systems, as well as participating researchers attended the meeting.
WANG Yifang delivered the opening speech. Professor LOU Xinchou, the CEPC project manager, outlined the overall progress of the project during the Reference Detector technical design report (Ref-TDR) phase. Professor WANG Jianchun, the convener of the CEPC detector system, introduced the research content, objectives, plans, and progress of the detector team during the Ref-TDR phase. The responsible persons for various detector-related systems reported on the research progress of their respective systems. During the meeting, the International Detector Review Committee engaged in in-depth dialogue and exchange with CEPC detector team, providing professional comments and suggestions.
This meeting marked the first International Detector Review Committee meeting after the CEPC team proposed the Reference Detector technology design (Ref-TDR). The committee unanimously affirmed the interim achievements and implementation plan of the CEPC detector team during the Ref-TDR phase, including detector design, key technology research and development, prototype production, and team building. They emphasized that this design signifies significant progress in the concepts outlined in the CEPC Physics and Detector Conceptual Design Report (CDR), and encouraged CEPC to further enhance international cooperation and domestic team building, as well as strengthen research and validation of key technologies.
19 renowned international scientists and technical experts from China, United Kingdom, Germany, France, Canada, United States, Japan, Switzerland, Slovenia, Spain, Italy, and other countries participated in the conference. During the meeting, IDRC members visited the laboratories and exhibitions related to detector research at the Institute of High Energy Physics.
