The 8^th International Workshop on Cryogenics Operations (Cryo-Ops 2018) was held at the Institute of High Energy Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, from June 4^th to 7^th. About 110 cryogenics experts and technicians from 12 countries joined the conference.

Thirty-five plenary talks and 20 posters were presented, reflecting the latest practical engineering, safety and operational management applications and techniques that have been found to cut operational costs and improve reliability and flexibility at large scientific facilities.

Special courses for young engineers were organized during the workshop. Experts from the European Spallation Source (ESS) and the Inter-University Accelerator Centre (IUAC) delivered talks on cryogenics in large scientific facilities, cryostat design, superfluid helium, and so on.

The workshop provides a periodic forum for research laboratories and industry to present and discuss current technological advancements, operability and maintenance experience of large cryogenic systems which support the physics research community and industrial production.
