On February 24, a delegation led by Guangdong Provincial Governor Ma Xingrui visited the China Spallation Neutron Source (CSNS) to learn more about the progress of the project. Wang Yifang, director of the Institute of High Energy Physics (IHEP), Chen Hesheng, manager of the CSNS project and Chen Yanwei, deputy director of IHEP received the guests.

Chen Hesheng gave a brief report, including the project progress, the application prospect and future development. Ma Xingrui was impressed by the progress made in the past years. He pointed out that the CSNS should began to apply for the approval of constructing the phase II of the project as soon as possible. He also said that Guangdong and Dongguan government will continue to give strong support to build more large-scale scientific facilities in Guangdong. Meanwhile, Ma Xingrui said that as located at a geographical center of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area, the CSNS facility should strength the relationship with Hong Kong and promote  scientific cooperation.
