A 19-person delegation from the Suranaree University of Technology (SUT), Thailand, and the Bureau of the Budget of the Royal Thai Government, headed by Prof. Prasart Suebka, Rector of SUT, visited IHEP on October 12th, 2016. Luo Xiao’an, deputy director of IHEP, together with a number of IHEP staff, hosted the delegation.

Prof. Luo Xiao’an opened the meeting by expressing a warm welcome to the delegation from SUT, and gave an introduction to IHEP. Cao Jun, from the Division for Experimental Physics, gave a status report on the Jiangmen Underground Neutrino Observatory (JUNO) project. Prof. Prasart Suebka expressed his admiration for IHEP’s achievements in scientific research and his support for SUT joining the JUNO project. Both parties agreed to expand the scope of their cooperation and further discuss related projects in future.

After the meeting, the visitors toured the photomultiplier laboratory, the BEPC central control room and the BSRF experiment hall.
