Asia-Oceania Neutron Scattering Physicists Gathered in Dongguan

Eighteen physicists from the Asia-Oceania area gathered in Dongguan to exchange experiences and progress in neutron scattering research, at the 16th Executive Meeting of the Asia-Oceania Neutron Scattering Association (AONSA) and Facility Directors’ Meeting from May 30 to 31.

Prof. CHEN Yuanbo, Director of Dongguan Campus, IHEP, extended a warm welcome to the participants. Prof. WANG Fangwei, Director of the Division of Neutron Science, Dongguan Campus, introduced the latest progress on civil construction, accelerator, target station, public facilities and user training at the CSNS project, and future plans for the facility. The participants introduced user distributions and operation performance at their respective facilities, which included sites in Korea, Australia, Japan and China. Detailed discussions were made on the experience of facility construction and the future development of neutron scattering research in the Asia-Oceania area.

A tour of the CSNS construction site was organized after the meeting.
