The fifth IHEP-INFN Annual Cooperative Meeting was held in Rome, Italy on May 27.
A ten-person IHEP delegation headed by Prof. WANG Yifang and a twenty-person INFN delegation led by Prof. Fernando Ferroni attended the meeting. Mr. CAO Jianye, the Scientific Attaché of the Embassy of People’s Republic of China in Republic of Italy, and Mr. GAI Hongbo, First Secretary of Science and Technology, also participated.
Prof. Ferroni warmly welcomed the IHEP delegation and guests from the Embassy. Mr. CAO introduced the current status and latest developments in scientific collaboration between China and Italy. Mr. CAO spoke highly of the collaboration on high energy physics between the two countries.
Delegates from both parties gave reports on the status, results and progress of major projects involving collaboration between the two institutes. Discussion was held on subjects including the CEPC/SppC facility, the BESIII experiment, the JUNO experiment, the LHAASO project, and the dark matter experiment HERD. Some possible further collaboration details were discussed and a Memorandum of Understanding was signed to enhance collaboration over a wider range of activities.
