Bai Chunli, President of CAS, congratulated IHEP on the successful launch of China’s first dark matter particle detection satellite on December 17th, 2015.

In his letter of congratulations, Bai Chunli spoke highly of the hard efforts and the achievements made by IHEP scientists. He encouraged them to make still greater contributions to space science research in China.

The silicon array detector developed by IHEP is one of the key payloads on the satellite and will detect and measure the tracks and electrical charge of high energy cosmic ray particles. The successful launch of the satellite marks an important step forward in deep space science exploration of our country.
