Hydrogen cycling cooling box is the critical component of the CSNS cooling system. On November 18th, 2015, a cooling test with liquid nitrogen was successfully carried out on the box.
The box was assembled in July, 2015 and had a successful test under room temperature. This low temperature test just made was to see if the box could be smoothly cooled down. After two hours cooling, the temperature inside the box went down to the liquid nitrogen temperature 80k, it was a full success.
The fabrication and the test of the box has been a milestone progress for the CSNS cooling system, providing experience for later installation and commissioning of the whole system.
