A New Step towards Institute-University Cooperation - Strategic Cooperative Agreement Signed between IHEP and SJTU
Zhang Jie, President of the Shanghai Jiaotong University (SJTU), and other leaders of the university met with Wang Yifang, Director of IHEP and other IHEP leaders visiting the university on July 6, 2015.
Chaired by Guan Xinping, Vice President of SJTU, both sides had discussions on future cooperation between the two institutions. On behalf of SJTU, Ji Xiangdong introduced the high energy physics activities in SJTU. Qin Qing, representing IHEP, introduced the recent activities in IHEP and its future plans for development. Both expressed interest in the future cooperation.
Wang Yifang and Zhang Jie gave their remarks respectively. Wang spoke highly of the achievements made by SJTU in particle physics, astro-physics and accelerators in such a short period of time. He expressed his hope and expectation to the cooperation between the two giants. Zhang recalled the cooperation between the two in recent years. Historically, the two had close cooperative ties, considering the fact of Nobel Prize Winner T. D. Lee's contributions to the construction of BEPC in IHEP and his library constructed and located in SJTU.
On behalf of each other's institution, Zhang Jie and Wang Yifang signed the Strategic Cooperative Agreement. Both sides agree to grasp the opportunity and bring each other's advantages into full play, carrying out cooperation in detector experiments, particle and astro-physics theories, accelerator physics and technologies, and future mega-science project construction as well. This is a new step to strengthen institute-university cooperation.
