IACHEC Meeting Successfully Held in Beijing

The Tenth International Astronomical Consortium for High Energy Calibration (IACHEC), hosted by the Particle and Astrophysics Division of IHEP, was successfully held in Xiangshan Hotel, Beijing on April 20-23, 2015.
CHEN Gang, Deputy Director of IHEP, opened the meeting by delivering his welcome remarks. He hoped that the meeting would further enhance the academic exchanges among the Consortium and the high energy space telescope calibration circles, and promote the HXMT calibration work.
Chair of the Academic Committee of this meeting, Dr.Guinazzi MATTEO from the European Space Agency and Prof. ZHANG Shuangnan from IHEP made summary speeches. Dr. MATTEO spoke highly of the organizational work, and hoped that mutual and cross calibrations would be carried out after HXMT is commissioned.
ZHANG Shuangnan commented that the full success of the meeting proved stable development of the calibrations in the countries concerned. He was happy to see that the younger generation scientists were very active at the meeting, bringing strong vitality to the meeting and the research in the field as well.
More than 100 experts from China, Europe, India, Japan and the United States attended the meeting, which was the largest in its history. The meeting had 38 formal oral talks.
