Daya Bay Reactor Neutrino Experiment: Spending & Budget Reviewed

A review of the Daya Bay Reactor Neutrino Experiment operating costs in 2014 and budget for 2015 was organized by the Bureau of Facility Support and Budget, CAS on March 23-24, 2015.

The review was chaired by LIN Mingjiong, Deputy Director General of the Bureau of Facility Support and Budget, CAS. The Review Panel was composed of dozens of experts from CAS institutes including the High Magnetic Field Laboratory, the Institute of Remote Sensing and Digital Earth, the Institute of Modern Physics, the National Synchrotron Radiation Laboratory, the Institute of Applied Physics, the Institute of Optics and Fine Mechanics and the Institute of Biochemistry and Cell Biology.

LI Xiaonan, Head of the experiment operations, reported on the operations and the operation costs in 2014 and the operation plans and budget for 2015, and answered questions by the experts.

The Review Panel gave positive comments on the operations last year and spoke highly of the scientific results achieved. In addition, the panel put forward suggestions to further strengthen management of the operation budget.

YANG Wei, Division Director of the Bureau of Facility Support and Budget, CAS made the summary speech, in which he expressed his thanks to the experts and his hope for the experiment to continue its stable running and achieve more scientific results.
