The CSNS Project held its Fifth Review Meeting of the International Advisory Committee at the construction site of the China

Spallation Neutron Source (CSNS) Project in Dongguan from November 18 to 20, 2013. The experts witnessed the on-site construction of the project for the first time.

Dr. CHEN Hesheng, the CSNS Project Manager, extended his warm welcome to the experts and introduced the latest project progress and the overall information about Dongguan city. CHEN emphasized that the local government has been offering strong support to the project

At the meeting, experts listened to the overall and detailed progress reports covering almost all the CSNS sub-systems. They made many valuable suggestions on wide aspects concerning the project, commenting that great progress has been made since the last review meeting. .

"To complete the project is a great challenge but it means a lot to the future of IHEP. Since we are not only building a major facility, but aiming at constructing an infrastructure for basic research and worldwide users. " Prof. WANG Yifang added in the closing session of the meeting.

A group of 14 experts from world-renowned institutions attended the review meeting.
