Beijing and Chicago join hands for detector R&D
From June 20 to 21, scientists from the Institute of High Energy Physics, Peking University and Tsinghua University together with their
Second Beijing-Chicago Workshop on Detector R&D |
During the two-day discussions, scientists reviewed the most recent advances in detector technologies, analyzed developments in applying these technologies to various fields, and identified critical areas for further research and development.
Topics on superconducting acceleration, crystal R&D, large-scale facilities based R&D, data acquisition & electronics, photomultiplier R&D and detector R&D in medical imaging were dealt with at the workshop. The mechanism for future cooperation was also discussed, personnel exchanges will be carried out and joint application for research funds could be a new attempt for the future collaboration.
Following the successful First Beijing-Chicago Workshop on Detector R&D in June 2012, this workshop succeeds the good trend of collaboration, a highly productive collaboration in detector technologies R&R will continue.
