Academician Fang Shouxian awarded the ACFA-IPAC’13 lifetime prize for accelerator science

Academician Fang Shouxian from the Institute of High Energy Physics (IHEP) was awarded the Asian Committee for Future Accelerators

 
 Academician Fang Shouxian awarded the ACFA-IPAC’13 lifetime prize
ACFA-IPAC’13 Lifetime Prize for his outstanding work in the accelerator field.

Professor Fang Shouxian has contributed to accelerator physics and technology throughout his whole scientific career. He played a leading role in constructing the Beijing Electron Positron Collider (BEPC), the first high energy accelerator in China, opening up accelerator-based experimental high energy physics in China.

He also contributed to the Major Upgrade of the Beijing Electron Positron Collider (BEPCII), and to the construction of the Shanghai Synchrotron Radiation Facility (SSRF), the China Spallation Neutron Source (CSNS) and the Accelerator Driven Sub-critical System (ADS).
