Research on space X-ray detection technology passed the CAS acceptance

2013-05-22
The review meeting of the research on X-ray detection technology in space, a key project of the CAS knowledge innovation plan, was held at

the on-site inspection of the products
the Institute of High Energy Physics on May 3. A panel of thirteen experts from domestic universities and scientific institutions were invited to join the meeting.
After listening to Prof. Lu Fangjun’s report on the latest project progress, experts had an on-site inspection of the products, which included the new CCD detector, the large-area Si-PIN detector, the Si-PIN pixel detector, the filter film and the collimator made with LIGA technology, etc.
Experts concluded that the project team has completed the research plan and the developed products met with the designed requirements. It is agreed that the research on space X-ray detection technology passed the CAS acceptance. Experts also suggested the CAS to offer continuous support to the space projects at IHEP.
Approved in June, 2010, the research on space X-ray detecting technology aims to solve the key technologies of the large-area semiconductor X-ray detector array in space. The products have been developed and applied to the Hard X-ray Modulation Telescope (HXMT) and the pre-study of the X-ray Timing and polarization (XTP) satellite. This research also paved the way for the domestic manufacturing of the key modulates in high-energy astronomic observation project and fluorescence spectrometer.
