High Energy Physics (IHEP) on January 25, 2013. This achievement fills the gap of the coupler within this frequency in China.

The 325 MHz high power input coupler for ADS superconducting cavity is one of the key components of the ADS injector I. The coupler power has exceeded 10kW in the on-site test conducted on January 23, and the leak rate was 5.1×10-10mbar.L/s. These test results prove that the coupler’s performance agrees well with its designed specifications. In the R&D of the coupler, IHEP scientists have overcome many technical difficulties such as copper plating, window brazing and TiN coating.

After the test, the expert panel listened to the test report and had extended discussions. They unanimously agree that China has developed the fabrication procedures and key technologies of the couplers within this frequency.
