IHEP, CIAE sign framework agreement on scientific cooperation
The Institute of High Energy Physics(IHEP) and the China Institute of Atomic Energy (CIAE)signed a framework agreement on scientific cooperation on April 17, 2012 in Beijing to strengthen future cooperation on nuclear physics and nuclear energy.
Representing the two scientific institutes, Prof. WANG Yifang, the director of IHEP and Prof. WAN Gang, the director of CIAE signed the agreement.
According to the agreement, both sides will strengthen cooperation on accelerator technology, nuclear detection and nuclear electronic technology, nuclear physics, particle physics and radiochemistry. It is hoped that a joint laboratory could be set up in the related research fields and applications for national scientific projects could be jointly submitted in the future.
In terms of talent recruitment and training, a series of measures were discussed, which covered internship and job opportunities for post-graduates in both institutes.
The China Institute of Atomic Energy (CIAE), originating from the Institute of Modern Physics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, was founded in 1950. CIAE is a comprehensive R&D base which is in a leading, fundamental and forward-looking position in China's nuclear field. It has become a multi-disciplinary scientific research institute involving nuclear physics, nuclear chemistry and radiochemistry, reactor engineering technology, accelerator technology, nuclear electronics and detection technology, etc.
