Reactor Neutrino Experiment Project (DYB) on December 20, 2011.

Dr. WANG Yifang, the IHEP Director and Project Manager of the Experiment, reported to the Vice President on the Project progress, including infrastructural construction, detector R&D, on-site assembling and commissioning, and so on.

Prof. ZHAN visited the experimental facilities with great interest and frequently exchanged with the working staff on site. He spoke highly of the project team that overcame the many difficulties and hardships due to the Project's remote location.

With the data-taking from mid-August in 2011, the Project is well positioned for a precise measurement of the poorly known value of Θ₁₃ because it is close to some of the world's most powerful nuclear reactors - the Daya Bay and Ling Ao nuclear power reactors, located some 55 kilometers from Hong Kong - and will take data from a total of eight large, virtually identical detectors in three experimental halls deep under the adjacent mountains.

The Daya Bay Experiment is also an international collaboration effort that includes over 40 research institutions from around the world.
