at the BESIII Collaboration Winter Meeting held from November 30 to December 3, 2011. More than 200 delegates from 39 Collaborators around the world attended this winter meeting.

Dr. WANG Yifang, IHEP Director chaired the opening ceremony of this meeting. The attendees listened to and reviewed the reports, covering BEPCII current status after the summer maintenance, the upgrading goals of muon detector electronoics, progress of zero-angle detector, etc. It was agreed that some quantitative simulation research should be carried out before setting any data acquisition plan, and the plan should be optimized by its physics goals in order to achieve best physics results.

A special session was added at this winter meeting to discuss the Partial Wave Analysis (PWA) method, since more and more effective statistics and data at BESIII experiment were calling for better analyzing methods. Although GPU was adopted as the calculating tools at BESIII Experiment to reduce the pressure of computing resources’ shortage, the need to improve the analyzing methods was still urgent. It was determined that a special PWA workshop to be held at next spring.

At the meeting, University of South China was admitted, which extended the list of collaborators to a total of 49. Apart from electing a new spokeswoman, some personnel adjustments were also made within the executive committee.

This year, a lot of BESIII-related papers have been published, and a series of exhilarating physics results was expected to unveil after the meeting. Next Collaboration Meeting is to be held at Suzhou University in June, 2012.
