Second run of BSRF concluded

2011-12-09

The Beijing Electron Positron Collider (BEPCII) delivered beamlines with the Beijing Synchrotron Radiation Facility (BSRF) to

the on-site test of the Small Angle X-ray Scattering Experimental Platform
users from November 1 to December 1, 2011.

During the SR dedicated running time, the effective beamtime for the users reached 656.71 hours. Apart from the newly upgraded 4B7A-Middle energy Station, 13 beamlines with BSRF were open to the users who came from 76 domestic institutions and 3 foreign institutions.

221 Experiments ranging from condensed matter physics and life science to environment and archaeology were conducted at the Facility. At 4B7A-Middle energy Station, an acceptance test was successfully conducted on the project of the Upgrading of BSRF Middle Energy Station Experimental Facility. The Small Angle X-ray Scattering Experimental Platform was tested at the 1W2A-Small Angle X-ray Scattering Station. After the tests, both projects were proved to meet with their design requirements. Another two pre-research projects of CAS scientific facilities were also tested at the Facility.

This run provided not only the experimental conditions for basic and applied research, but also important statistics to some scientific experiments.
